Hey Adori Fam! Before you decide to loc, you should understand exactly what type you are looking for..Here are four popular types of locs to consider getting
- Traditional Locs – these are typically started using finger coils or comb coils. They are the go to loc style if you’re still deliberating whether or not to get locs in the long run as they can be easily reverted. This technique begins by applying a twisting or loc gel, curling from the roots and securing in place with a metal clip till it dries.
- Interlocs- these are a more permanent style of locs. This technique begins by parting your hair slightly in two from the roots , grabbing the end of your hair and looping through the parted hole continuously till your sectioned strands have all been interlooped through. This is usually done with a crotchet pin or latch hook
- Two strand twist locs- these are the go to DIY loc technique which starts with two strand twisting all your hair and giving it a period of months to loc naturally. This could take anywhere from 10months to 2 years for your twist pattern to completely disappear and lock.
- Sister locs – this is the tiniest loc style which entails installing hundreds of micro twists or interlocs into your natural or relaxed hair. This process usually takes between 10-20 hours to complete depending on your hair’s length and volume.
